History Of The Lincolnshire Regiment 1914-1918

NEW Paperback

*All I had was a name on a WW1 memorial - Harry Read Lincolnshire Regiment. With the aid of this book I could trace what he was doing from the time he enlisted as a 'Territorial' in 1915, via 1916 fighting in Ireland after the Easter rising ending up in the thick of the fighting in 1917 leading to battle of Pollygon Wood and other battles round Ypres. He was killed (but never found) the day after being relieved by the Canadians and moving out of the worst of the fight.
This book is perfect to trace the movements of anyone serving with Lincolnshire Regiment in WW1

* My grandfather left me his WW1 medal but sadly his Attestation papers were mostly destroyed by a fire at Kew records office. Knowing his battalion and reg number I was able to track his exploits, except when he was on leave, through this excellent compliation of the Lincs war diaries. A must for WW1 enthusiasts and for Lincs researchers this is close to a holy grail.
